                                            GLOBAL WARMING

I hope that all of you are coping with the global warming. Today's news informs us that London has been paralyzed by  ten inches of global warming, the heaviest amount since 1991. Since most recipients of this commentary are in Ohio, I don't need to comment further to you about this.

Ohio FlagColumbus, Ohio - The Libertarian Party of Ohio has been advised by the Secretary of State (SoS) that they have achieved Ballot Access through the 2009 election.  The SoS has determined that the LPO is now considered a minor party and will have the rights of other minor political parties in Ohio.  The name "Libertarian" will be used on ballots.  In the coming weeks the SoS will be issuing a Directive or Advisory to all Board of Elections in Ohio concerning the recent changes in status.

The LPO is encouraging candidates that are interested in running for office to start their planning now! The LPO will provide education and tools to assist with campaign planning and execution.  Filing deadlines for 2009 are approaching in February; and prospective candidates should contact their local Board of Elections for specific dates in their jurisdiction.  Petitions for minor parties will require only 1/2 the signatures for major parties.  If you are interested in running for local, state, or federal office in 2009 or 2010, please contact the chair of our candidates and campaigns committee, William McDowall.

The LPO will be holding a State Conference on May 1-3, 2009.  Candidates running for office in 2009 or 2010 should consider attending the educational programs offered at the conference.  More information will be coming in the next few weeks on Conference agenda and registration.

Additional contacts with the LPO are:  Paul Campbell - Political Director, William McDowell - Chair of the Candidates & Campaigns Committee, John Stewart - Field Development Director, Curtis Hannah - Chief Region Liaison.

Now that we have achieved Ballot Access for the upcoming elections; won't you please help us prepare for the campaigns ahead? You can also SET UP A MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION that will help fund not only our ballot access efforts, but also contribute to our ongoing outreach efforts and party growth. A system of capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat money manipulated by a central bank. Capitalism cherishes voluntary contracts and interest rates that are determined by savings, not credit creation by a central bank.

Ohio State Issues

COMMENTARY: OHIO STATE ISSUES

Issue One would limit petitioners by forcing initiative and referendum petitions to be submitted 125 days, instead of 90 days, before the election. I will vote NO.

Issue Two is a bond issue to create a $200 million debt so that your grandchildren may have clean air and water when they are in poverty, although you cannot be sure since it is a government program. I will vote NO.

Although there is some debate regarding this subject, Issue Three would strengthen the rights of property owners to ground water under their land. I will vote YES.

Issue Four was taken off the ballot, thank goodness.

Issue Five would limit people and pay day lenders from entering into voluntary contracts and cause thousands of people to lose their jobs.

Issue Six would establish a casino monopoly. Although adults should have the right to gamble, I will vote NO on this monopoly measure.

SEAN RYAN, A RON PAUL DEMOCRAT

SEAN RYAN,  RON PAUL DEMOCRAT

I had the opportunity to meet Sean Ryan, a Democrat primary candidate for the unexpired term of the late Stephanie Tubbs Jones in the 11th Congressional District. He is a very principled, well informed young man who held a three day hunger strike to bring the attention of Clevelanders to that great counterfeiting agency, the Federal Reserve System.  By the time you read this, you will know the results of his race.

You can learn more about him at www.seanryanforcongress.com and www.freedomride.us

THE GREATEST ROBBERY IN HISTORY

Posted by davidmacko

Posted on 05:01, Wednesday, October 15

The $850 billion heist, the greatest robbery in history, will have the multiple effect of communizing the finance and insurance industries, setting off hyperinflation and extending what would otherwise have been a one or two year depression into one which may last a decade or longer, just as F.D. Roosevelt did in the 1930s.

It is also important to recall that the $850 billion figure comes from the same liars who told us that the Iraq war would cost $50 billion.

Somewhere in Hell, John Dillinger, Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde and the James Brothers must be drooling at the prospect of meeting and comparing notes with Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke. Lets  hope that God gives them the opportunity to do so soon.

BARRETT AND MACKO ENDORSE EACH OTHER

Posted by davidmacko

Dr. Kevin Barrett, Libertarian candidate for Congress in the Wisconsin 3rd District and David Macko, Libertarian candidate for Congress in the Ohio 14th District, have endorsed each other for Congress in a sign of  principled Libertarian solidarity.

SARAH PALIN PART TWO

Posted by davidmacko

Posted on 04:01, Wednesday, October 15

Since my first commentary concerning Governor Palin, photos have appeared of an Israeli flag in her office. Photos, of course, can be manipulated, especially in the computer age.

The fact that she is being instructed by Soviet agent and top Zionist, one-worlder  Henry Kissinger, cannot be interpreted except as proof that she has effectively been co-opted by the Enemy. If she is not already on the other side, she will be by the time Kissinger finishes with her.

Another very bad mark against her is the fact that she is willing and apparently happy to have her oldest son face possible death or maiming in the unconstitutional, unnecessary, lie-based war on Iraq.

GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN

Posted by davidmacko

Posted on 03:58, Wednesday, October 15

John McCain's choice of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, as his vice presidential running mate, contrary to many of his actions and statements, indicates that he may not be trying to throw the election after all. Unlike the other half of the ticket, Governor Palin strongly favors the development of energy resources, our God-given rights which are guaranteed by the Second Amendment, smaller government, lower taxes, opposition to police state measures such as Real ID and is an uncompromising supporter of the right to life who refused to abort her own fifth child, a victim of Down's Syndrome, who was born earlier in the year. As mayor of Wasilla, she also reduced property taxes by 60% as well as her own salary. When she became governor, she ended the infamous Bridge to Nowhere.

Except for  her support of McCain, which apparently compromised all of her principles, and a possible neocon attitude to the war on Iraq and Afghanistan, there is very is very little to criticize in her record. Several months ago she was mentioned as a possible running mate for Ron Paul. She is the sort of person who should be a prime candidate for recruitment to the Libertarian Party rather than to be the vice presidential candidate of a Republican statist, warmonger ticket.

However, except in very rare instances, where the president is a mentally retarded puppet of a maniacal vice president, such as the current administration, vice presidents have very little if any influence on policy. It is far wiser to support Bob Barr for president than to concern yourself morbidly with actuarial studies of a man who celebrated his 72nd birthday today and an apparently quite healthy 44 year old woman. A vote for Bob Barr and Wayne Root is a 100% vote for liberty. The other alternative is 9/42nds (21.43%) at best  even assuming that she would not be corrupted by the corrosive moral environment of the District of Columbia between now and then, which could be over three years anyway.

Also quite interestingly, the governor's husband works on the North Slope. She is not the governor of Alaska to whom Chaplain Lindsey Williams refers in his celebrated speech, since she took office in 2006. Yet, it would be quite fascinating if some reporter somehow were able to ask her, "Governor Palin, do you know Lindsey Williams? What can you tell us about the 200 year oil supply on Gull Island?" http://video.google.co...ideoplay...1147

Then we would certainly know on whose side she is.
